Star Castle Hotel - Hugh Town

4-star historic castle hotel on the Isles of Scilly with award-winning dining

Accommodation

Star Castle Hotel offers 38 unique rooms, including castle rooms with original features and garden rooms with private terraces. Each room is equipped with king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms, free toiletries, and seating areas. Guests can choose from rooms in the 16th-century castle itself or the garden chalets, many with sea views.

Dining

The hotel's two acclaimed restaurants, the Castle Restaurant and The Vine, serve award-winning gourmet food with an emphasis on fresh local seafood caught by the hotel's own fishing boat. The Castle Restaurant offers a daily-changing 2 to 5-course menu, while The Vine provides a more casual setting under a 50-year-old vine. The on-site vegetable garden supplies fresh produce, and the Dungeon Bar offers Scillonian real ale and a wide selection of wines and spirits.

Amenities

Guests have access to a heated indoor swimming pool with a sun deck, complimentary golf at the nearby Isles of Scilly Golf Club, and tennis courts with equipment provided. The hotel also offers an electric vehicle charging station, free parking, and a shuttle service from St Mary's Airport and ferry terminal. For relaxation, there is a hot tub, sun loungers, and a children's playground on the grounds.

Location

Star Castle Hotel sits on the Garrison, a 5-minute walk from Hugh Town on St Mary's, the largest island of the Isles of Scilly. It is a 3-minute drive from St Mary's Airport and the ferry terminal, providing easy access to island-hopping adventures from St Mary's Harbour. The hotel offers breathtaking views of the surrounding islands and is close to Porth Helick's granite rocks and ancient burial sites.
